McGill is known for academic excellence – and for athletic achievement. Our student athletes enjoy a well-earned reputation for competitive spirit and sportsmanship. Many McGill athletes compete at the highest level, as part of one of our 29 Varsity Sports Teams. Not quite at that level? How about joining a Competitive Club or participating in Intramural sports?
Exploring a new interest or continuing with a sport you’ve enjoyed in the past is a great way to forge new friendships and develop precious leadership skills. There’s a McGill Competitive Club for just about every interest, and 15 intramural leagues that blend competitive athletics with the philosophy of inclusion, participation and fair play. There’s something for everyone. Depending on your level of skill, interest and enthusiasm, you can play at the Varsity, competitive, or recreational level. Get involved, get into the school spirit, and add a terrific dimension to your university experience!
